Vintage Porcelain Ceramic & Chrome Cherry Storage Soda Fountain Ice Cream Parlor

Antique vintage original porcelain ceramic and chrome soda fountain or ice cream parlor Cherry container.
This is a drop in porcelain ceramic holder that would have gone under the counter in a soda fountain along with several other similar ones to hold other ingredients and toppings.
It measures 6 3/4" tall (top to bottom on the front where the chrome door is); 7 7/8" deep, from front to back, and 4 1/4" wide (or left to right)
The hinged front door is very heavy gauge chrome- or nickel plated brass (I believe)- a magnet does not attach to it -, thick like very old cars; the
knob with the word Cherry on it is white porcelain.
The rest of the container is sturdy heavy duty porcelain, similar to bathroom fixtures. There is some incised writing on the underside edge of the porcelain (see photo #10), but I can't make it out -perhaps some numbers - maybe an 8 and a 1 or 6, also some letters - looks like an M or W ? and more.
There is a small built-in notch for a spoon (spoon rest) inside once the top is open.
It weighs nearly 5 lbs ! (4 lb 14 oz)
In good to very good original vintage condition; some signs of wear and use and age as expected; not chipped or cracked or broken.
